my life so far.

This is a short history of my life, not the most interesting of reads, but here it is;

I grew up in south London, in a little place called Croydon (hate the place, wouldn't advise visiting, I certainly don't intend to). Had a brief period in Southampton for uni, aka the 4 year pissup, where I spent more time drinking and partying than actually studying and it showed in my final result! After I moved back home after uni, as you do, I did eventually get my own place. During this time I worked as a barman, a CVIT driver for securicor ( now G4S ) and finally an environmental consultant. It was this job I was doing when I met my wife.

This was right at the beginning of the financial crash of 20, and while at the time, my job was going good, there were signs that time were gonna get difficult, with redundancies being made in other departments, so we made a decision. We went for the most secure job out of the two we had, which happened to be the wife's ( luckily it was also the highest paying - No TAX!), so began my life as a Bob or to everyone else, boyfriend on board. You see the wife was a merchant navy officer at the time, sailing on cruise ships, and for a couple of years I sail as boyfriend and then husband on board, picking up what jobs I could, paid or otherwise. This all ended with the arrival of the little man, although he did join us for a cruise to the Rio Carnival and up the Amazon. After that trip, a job shore side called, even though this mean turning down promotion on the ship's.

So a stint up here, followed by a stint back in the North East of England, where we had been living during our time at sea. During our time back south we were joined by the young lady, and I was gainfully employed at a DIY store. Then during maternity leave for the young lady, the opportunity for a promotion arose back up here and so it was we returned to the island we now call home.

Since returning I have been looking after the bairns and for a while I had a Saturday job, but it didn't work out too well, as it meant that the work at home wasn't getting done. This is due to the fact that in between being a full time dad, I'm a bit of a DIY man, having done up a flat, a semi and am now in the process of doing the detached house. When I say 'done up' I mean, in the case of the semi-detached, fitting a new kitchen, bathroom, toilet and redecorating all the bedrooms, front room and dining room. The current project is even bigger, with the front room and downstairs bathroom WiP, the little mans room done and the kitchen temporally patched (reconfigured for stairs, were in kitchen, now in hall and access, originally from front room, now from hall).

So life is constant, kids during the day, DIY at night, never a dull moment!
